  • LGBTQ+ API Resources: 

      1. Viet Rainbow of Orange County has created an OC Community Assistance Fund that will be prioritizing folx who live in Orange County, CA and who identify as a person of color, LGBTQ+, and/or undocumented. However, if you do not fall under these identities, they still encourage you to complete this form. This community assistance fund seeks to help those who are most vulnerable.

      2. Satrang has a resource list covering financial aid, employment rights, food, and more with some focus on California and South Asian resources.

      3. Desi LGBTQ Helpline for South Asians is offer free, confidential, culturally sensitive peer support, information and resources for LGBTQ South Asian individuals, families and friends around the globe.

      5. Desi Rainbow Parents & Allies Online Meeting

        1. Every Tuesday;  ​Desi Parents & Allies of LGBTQ folks are invited to join us every Tuesday night, 8 pm Eastern, 7pm Central, 5 pm Pacific and meet other parents and allies, learn from each other and share support.

      6. Parivar Bay Area Virtual Hangout

        1. Every Wednesday; Parivar Bay Area is holding a casual weekly Zoom virtual hangout space during this COVID isolation. Topics are up to the group: it can be a casual chat or sharings relevant to current times. As with Parivar's mission, this is an affinity space meant for South Asian Trans and Queer GNB LGB Folx and their loved ones.

    Mutual Aid & Rapid Response Funds: 

    1. COVID-19 Collective Care doc, which is a Mutual Aid  & Advocacy Toolkit. This editable document tree (bit.ly/covid19collectivecare) is a US-based resource for people looking out for themselves and their communities through personal preparation, collective care, mutual aid and advocacy.

    3. COVID-19 Mutual Aid in Greater Los Angeles & Beyond is an open community mutual aid where you can add any requests for mutual aid or offer up resources for mutual aid; mostly in the LA area

    4. Aid for Hijra community in Bangladesh

    5. Emergency Relief Fund For LGBTQ+ Caribbeans

      1. The Caribbean Equality Project's (CEP) COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund For Black & Brown Queer and Trans People is a response to the devastating effects of the outbreak. They are dedicated to providing resources, guidance, emotional support, and material aid throughout this period of uncertainty.

    6. Relief fund for BI-POC & LGBTQI+ folks

      1. The COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the particular vulnerability of queer, transgender, non-binary and/or intersex Black, Indigenous folks and other LGBTQI+ people of color (QTIBIPOC folks). Realizing a need for mutual aid for our communities at this time, Amita Swadhin launched this fund on March 14, 2020.

    7. Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services (WDACS) has launched a Senior Food Delivery, free pickup and delivery program for older adults and individuals with disabilities. The Countywide program, called Critical Delivery Service, will deliver groceries, household items, and other vital necessities to individuals who are unable to leave their homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  

      1. Items may be delivered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at no cost to the client. No application process is required, however, items must be pre-paid and ready for pickup. 

      2. Deliveries may be scheduled by calling 1-888-863-7411 between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Clients may utilize this service up to four times or 40 miles per month, whichever comes first.

    Reporting Racism/Xenophobia:

    1. Asian Pacific Planning and Policy Council (A3PCON), Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA) and San Francisco Asian American Studies Department have launched a reporting center to collect and track incidents of anti-Asian American and Pacific islander hate violence, adult harassment, discrimination, shunning, and child bullying in California and throughout the country. The reporting center will enable individuals who have been directly impacted by or witnessed firsthand this issue to share their stories at www.a3pcon.org/stopaapihate. Report form is in 10 API languages.

      1. South Asian Network (SAN) will be monitoring incidents of racism/xenophobia related to the coronavirus.

      2. 211 is now taking reports of racism/xenophobia related to coronavirus. If you have been the victim of or witness to an act of violence, bullying, harassment, threat, or other act motivated by hate, please fill out the Hate Incident Report Form or call 2-1-1 to file a report and be connected to support services.

    1. LA County Department of Public Health has a number of educational materials and resources that are written in a variety of languages, including Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Chinese, and Japanese. This resource sheet can also take you to county and state based websites to report Unemployment or Fraud/Price Gouging.

    2. The Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum created a resource sheet that includes in-language materials in a variety of API languages and more. The materials are not centered in the LA area, but can provide a general understanding of the coronavirus.

    Resources for Specific Regions

    1. Angeleno Card provides financial assistance for in-need households via no-fee prepaid cards provided by Mastercard's City Possible network in amounts determined; supported by Mayor Eric Garcetti and the Mayor’s Fund for LA. Applications are now closed.
