API Equality-LA General Coalition Meeting

Join us for our monthly coalition meeting! There will be a special eye-withness account of the fight in Maine to defeat Question 1, an anti-gay marriage bill. Our coalition meeting will feature:

CRISIS & SOLUTIONS: The Impact of the State Budget Cuts for Asian and Pacific Islander Communities
A panel presentation on how California’s economic crisis is impacting the Asian and Pacific Islander LGBT community. Speakers will cover health and human services-impacted programs for immigrant communities, people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, and the older adult population. Advocacy strategies will also be discussed on how to combat future cuts to many life-saving programs for API communities.

Presenters from the following organizers will join us:
- Asian Pacific AIDS Intervention Team
- Asian Pacific American Legal Center
- API Older Adults Task Force
- California State Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander American Affairs
- Asian Pacific Islander Health Justice Network
